In 1995 Hank Moore sold his business, retired, and was playing golf five days a week. Hank and his wife Kathy traveled through Europe and ate at several outside eateries. Hank thought to himself, “I am really bored it would be fun to open a café.” Shortly after returning to the states he visited Zion National Park and said to the owner of Oscar’s Deli, “If you ever want to sell this place I would love to buy it.” The next morning the owner took him up on that offer. Twenty one years later he was glad he asked. Shortly after purchasing the café Hank moved to Southern Utah and began running Oscar’s Café full time.
The restaurant business was new to him but working in customer service and making people happy was not. Hank and his wife Kathy became hands on owners. They worked in and learned every facet of the restaurant. When asked if he would like to become part of the SunRiver community and open Hank’s Riverwalk Grill his desire for creativity and a challenge prompted him to answer, Yes. Hank had been asked by several different businesses if he would like to open a restaurant at their Saint George locations. He felt like SunRiver would provide the unique destination he was looking for.
